On the verge of the 100 th anniversary of the first Country recording, which will be celebrated from The Grand Ole Opry to Carnegie Hall in 2022, the music they used to call “Country & Western” is more alive than ever. And even if the terminology has switched back to “Country”, as in Billboard’s “Hot Country Songs” or “Top Country Albums”, the tradition of this All-American Roots music has only changed marginally.
