Hay and Ellis and their Stirfry friends are from Frankfort, Kentucky. Jeff Ellis is a lifelong guitar player proficient in many genres. Joanna Hay grew up playing classical violin and returned to music in her thirties. Jeff Ellis composes original instrumentals which feature guitar, violin, mandolin, accordion and percussion. You can hear the wide range of influences in their music leaping through Latin, Celtic, gypsy and jazz. Their live shows are upbeat, unexpected and full of laughter and jubilation. Ben Griffith on accordion and bass and the Ellis boys Jordon and Jarret make percussion appearances on this album. This sought-after band has played for Kentucky Derby Celebrations at the Governor's Mansion and on the Governor's Derby Train. They were featured performers at the World Equestrian Games in 2010 playing to a packed house. Kentucky Department of Travel, Ryder Cup Celebrations, The Grand Theatre, Natasha's Cafe, the Kentucky History Center and many others have booked Hay and Ellis Stirfry for fun entertainment.
