Rocket to Nowhere
Ditto & The Repetitives came out of Uranus in 1903 and got their start in the United States as a Scott Joplin tribute band. Ditto played a vintage 1878 Strat through a steam powered Marshall amp (much later Jimi Hendrix, inspired by Ditto, used a modern version of this same set up). Ditto played a stand up wash tub bass with a very limited half octave range, but a kick-a** thump. Last but not least, Ditto played a trap drum set of old whiskey barrels with calf skin heads and broom handles for sticks. Through the years, they explored many musical styles, including Delta Punk, New Wave Swing, Hard Core Big Band, and Death Metal Bop. Later in their careers they began writing their own tunes, self described as "more or less Rock n Roll." To date, they've never played a gig. You can't get any more indie than that.
