Upbeat Music

Upbeat Music

Since its very first release a mere two years ago, Upbeat Music has quickly secured its place as a serious contender among its peers, turning out earth-shaking progressive and trance releases by combining established, world class artists with the very finest in new production talent. That blend has resulted in consistent support from a real cross section of the DJ elite, ranging from Above & Beyond to Marco V, Sander van Doorn to Markus Schulz, Aly & Fila to Andy Moor, John Askew to Eddie Halliwell. Factor in countless radio plays including BBC Radio 1, toppling festival tents the world over including Global Gathering and Sunrise Festival, and pride of place on an admirable list of dance compilations, it's easy to see what all the fuss is about. Now with an admirable inventory of releases to its name, Upbeat presents its debut album expertly mixed together by the labels commander-in-chief, John Wright. Part one fits perfectly either in a dark sweaty club or on a lazy Sunday afternoon, whereas part two pitches things up to showcase the full effect of energetic trance on Upbeat. Part 1 Shaun Ansari - Destiny (Mr Kre8 Remix) Setting the steady throbbing pace of part one, Mr. Kre8 turns the distinctive and uplifting melodies of Shaun Ansari into a deep and percussive, foot-tapping, progressive-edged masterpiece. Facade - Drop Sequence (Original Mix) Here UK producer Adam Thomas creates a genre-bridging beauty by combining thumping bass and deep kicks with sparkling highs and a stripped back melody which results in a solid production with fantastic elements of both house and trance. Addex - Living With Nature (Original Mix) Hailing from Romania, Addex fuses together smooth melodies and soft pads with dark, grinding basses and sharp percussion. The result is a multi-layered and echoing progressive trance monster. Trilucid - We Are One (Alex Robert Clairvoyance Mix) Here the perfect combination of Andy Tau's original genius and Alex Robert's edgy remix style result in a plucky, chugging, floor-shaking groover. Priority One - Delta 5 (Liquid Vision Remix) *EXCLUSIVE ALBUM RELEASE* Taking the catchy hook from John Wright's original track, Martin Newstead from Scotland strips it down and rebuilds it into a shining and emotional work of progressive trance which is set for release early in 2011 with a stunning remix package. Andy Tau - Leap Of Faith (Original Mix) Andy's second appearance on the album is a solid progressive trance bomb which is the kind of darker, groove-driven masterpiece for which Andy is best known. Priority One - Precision Movement (Andy Tau Remix) Combining the finest in rhythmic melodies and smooth production, Andy serves up the epic remix treatment superbly once again by giving another original from John Wright a real classic trance touch. Shaun Ansari - Miracle (Daniel Loubscher Remix) All the way from Cape Town in South Africa and with a set of pristine releases to his name, Daniel's name has quickly become synonymous with pure quality trance. His remix features long synth lines and plucky notation taking the original in a great new direction. Andy Tau - Home (Adam van Baker Remix) A real sublime production, Adam delivers a pluckier and more uplifting rendition which draws on the classic trance elements of the original and binds them together seamlessly with his own sharp, driving sounds. Singularity - Citadel (Maarten de Jong Rework) Providing the remix spice to Citadel, we enlisted the creative genius of Maarten de Jong, fresh from successes on Doorn, Oxygen, Liquid, Spinnin' and Black Hole. A rough, tough rhythm combines with vibrant filters and low echoes over expertly twisted techy stabs. Adam van Baker - Tigra (Michael Angelo & Jim Electro Tech Mix) When it was time to launch the label, it became obvious that our debut release would have to be something truly special. In a break from their usual style, Cypriot production duo Michael Angelo & Jim pulled and twisted the energetic and euphoric original mix into a gritty electro masterpiece. Part 2 Cloudriver - Summer Nights (Abstract Vision & Elite Electronic Remix) Firing on all cylinders from the off, the quick Russian pace of Michael Filimonov and Michael Matiushin (Abstract Vision) and Vyacheslav Romashkin and Alexander Palagin (Elite Electronic) combine to great effect. Turning up the tempo of the original, the foursome craft a pumping variation of the original riff with dramatic crash and emotive builds. Solace & Solitude - Rhode Island (Original Mix) The German trance duo of Pete Severano and Christian Anders bursts onto the scene with a dreamy fusion of melodic, pulsing basslines and delicate, epic melodies with a euphoric break which has 'peak-time classic' stamped all over it. Kyota - For The Fallen (Oen Bearen Remix) New to the label and hailing from Poland, the mighty Oen Bearen brings the remix in a stomping nu-trance style with a sprinkling of tech elements. His rough, growling bassline arrangements and crisp percussion result in a build up with real attitude. The breakbeat section embraces the original melody perfectly and the rolling main section is decorated with a selection of subtle melodies. Chris Turner - Don't Turn Back (Dejan Subotin Remix) Dejan's remix is a 100% hard-hitting monster featuring punchy basses and lead plucks which have all the hallmarks of the very finest peak-time trance. After building from dark and moody beginnings, the mix crashes back into the huge main section with incredible energy and drive. Breeze - Timeless (Original Mix) Timeless is the spectacular result of a new collaboration between rising stars Sean Truby and Niklas Grosswald who have combined their talents under the alias 'Breeze' featuring about as full-on, euphoric and uplifting a lead melody as you can get without melting the speakers. Beta Blocker feat. Lexi Koukla - I've Heard (Solace & Solitude Dub Mix) Providing the spice of remix to the release, the German duo return with a slamming dub mix and an emotive vocal remix to choose from on this package, both in their trademark banging style. Shaun Ansari - Fury (Icone Remix) First up, and flying the Belgian flag on this huge multi-national package, Wim van Gelder makes his vibrant debut for Upbeat with a plucky and driving remix which is every bit as good as the world has come to expect following his previous fame on a huge selection of premier trance labels where he has worked his unique magic. Martin Everson & B. Prime - Confidence In The Future (Heartbeat Remix) Heading up the remixes on this release comes Sergey Belov as Heartbeat from Tolyatti in Russia whose penchant is most definitely for the uplifting. The Heartbeat remix is a sharp, crisp production which combines thumping psy-trance with a distinctive original melody. TrancEye & Sergey Nevone - Forbidden Siren (Original Mix) After first gracing our roster with a pristine remix of 'Fury' by Shaun Ansari, we were aching to lay our hands on a TrancEye original and 'Forbidden Siren' is every bit as good as expected. The original sets a benchmark of stunning altitude with thick basses and sharp plucky melodies sitting over smooth and rhythmic key changes with a beautifully complex main lead melody to boot. Anoikis - Edge Of Everything (Ally Brown Remix) New kid on the block Ally Brown steps up to the plate. Here, Ally polishes off a release package supremely with a filtered, percussive and tech-trance interpretation of the original mix which combines the blissfully serene with the dark, pulsing and simply stomping. Fabrik Europa - First Wave (Indecent Noise Remix) We could think of no better way to round off the album than by ending on this choppy, searing, synth-laden remix from Alexander which featured as the labels second release. A perfect example of the euphoric Indecent Noise soundest that can do no wrong. With every new release, new fans are made and new support is gathered, and with such a solid precedent being set by the first two years releases and with additional high-profile remixers set to lend their magic touch to the Upbeat pool, a view of what's over the horizon simply doesn't get any better than this. Looking for the future blueprint of trance? You've just found it.
